Novack Driving Academy Sdn. Bhd. ("we", "us", "the Academy") operates novacklean.com and provides driver training services in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We process personal data in accordance with the Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA).
1. Data We Collect
We only collect data we genuinely need to teach you to drive and run our business:
- Identity and contact details — your name, phone number, email address and pickup address, provided when you book lessons or submit our enquiry form.
- Licensing information — your license class, L or P status and, for conversion students, your home-country license details. We need these to plan lawful, appropriate training.
- Lesson records — progress cards, attendance and mock test scores, kept so your training is continuous even if your instructor changes.
- Payment records — amounts, dates and method. We do not store full bank card numbers.
- Website usage — limited technical data via cookies, described separately in our Cookie Policy.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Scheduling lessons, arranging pickup and matching you with an instructor
- Tracking training progress and preparing you for JPJ tests
- Processing payments and issuing receipts
- Responding to enquiries submitted by phone, WhatsApp, email or the website form
- Meeting legal obligations, including company record-keeping requirements
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data. We do not send marketing messages unless you have expressly opted in, and every marketing message includes a working opt-out.
3. Who Sees Your Data
Access is limited to Academy staff who need it for their role. Your assigned instructor sees your name, contact details, pickup address and progress records — nothing more. We disclose data to third parties only when: (a) required by Malaysian law or a competent authority; (b) needed to process a payment you initiated; or (c) you have asked us to, for example confirming training completion to an employer for corporate programmes.
4. Storage and Retention
Records are stored on access-controlled systems in Malaysia. We keep student records for seven years after your last lesson to satisfy statutory record-keeping and to help returning students resume training, after which they are securely deleted. Enquiry-form submissions that do not become bookings are deleted within twelve months.
5. Your Rights Under the PDPA
You may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate data, or withdraw consent to processing (which may mean we can no longer provide lessons). To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected] with the subject line "Data Request". We respond within 21 days.
6. Minors
Students aged 17 may enrol with the knowledge of a parent or guardian, and we will direct billing and account communications to the guardian on request.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects how your data is handled, we will post the revised version here with a new revision date, and notify active students by email for significant changes.
